. ever had troubles keeping focus? maintaining work without distractions? falling asleep with a head full of jumping around thoughts? . Uh, yes I did. . There are loads of analogies and pictures that relate to this struggle of the mind to get calm. I had a time in my life where i felt so overwhelmed by the things i had to do and the responsabilities i was facing, that i had a rough time falling asleep. I didnt do it purposely, but one night with closed eyes, dying to get a good night rest, my actually super tired monkeymind came up with an analogy which since then always put me at ease in tough times. . Take 3 deep breaths. Close your eyes. Now picture the dark nothing you see as a huge, pretty dirty windshield. Think of it as your mind. Actually its a clear, transparent glass which lets you see everything genuinely and in pure detail. Every little piece of dirt and filth on it, are thoughts that hinder you from seeing clearly. Now - if you‘re ready to loose some tension and take a good night sleep, or a constructive workflow- put on you windshield wiper and - W i p e t h e m o f f. . Now - not all thoughts are burdening. But lets face it- most of them pretty destructive when we try to focus on one thing in particular. And don’t worry, one thing is certain - they will always come back. It‘s wiping off, not wiping out. . . If you feel involved and such pictures are of interest to you - i highly recommend Andy Puddicombe‘s book and/or app H E A D S P A C E. There are a ton of profundly valuable tipps, comprehensible techniques and catchy animations how to possibly handle a restless mind. . . •
