..even though i’m not including too much philosophy in my teachings -
i believe its good to know that there is more to yoga than bending, crazy poses
and fancy pants.. so. classical yogis use to claim ‚everthing that could possibly make you suffer -
your emotions, your body, your experiences etc. – is surreal. your life is not what defines you. its not your t r u e self.’ they say that the essence of yourself is hidden underneath the surface of life’s steady distraction.
and because we get so caught up in minor details of our everyday life,
we forget what’s real. and that once you stop defining yourself over superficial nullity
and let go off everything that could distract your mind –
your r e a l self will be revealed and your mind will be at ease, finally. „get rid of the trash. thats the goal in life.“
they say. later in history the more hippie kinda yogis claimed: ‚na, na, na..moment. why would we turn our back on the messed up chaos that life seemes to be -
just because we can’t control it? lets rather f a c e the fear of the unknown, the unpredictable and the suffering that will come with it and r i s e through it. thats the chance we were given to make our biggest weakness
become our greatest power.’
they say. i like to think of it as a wavey, insecure ocean
( from which none of us will get out alive eventually)
– but instead of waiting probably a lifetime in vain for this water to get still,
I’d rather J U M P into it - not judging the ups and downs -
and make it my goal, yes, even my passion to get good in riding those waves. life is a game. we will never know what will happen next -
which is the fun and the most harmful part of it at the same time.
and even though we will never be able to control w h a t will happen to us -
we'll always be in control of our a t t i t u d e to it.
so, I believe - we a r e in charge.
always.
this is probably the most important thing i learned from yoga - A T T I T U D E.
ok .. and downward facing dog.
